External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar on Sunday warned that artificial intelligence (AI) will be a deep element for the globe, after nuclear weapons.
Speaking during the third and final day of the Kautilya Economic Conclave, which was organized by the Finance Ministry and the Institute of Economic Growth, S. Jaishankar stated that artificial intelligence (AI) is going to be the next big thing and that nations need to be ready to deal with its impacts.
He went on to say that AI will play a significant role in the global ecosystem. “AI will be as dangerous for the world as nuclear bombs once were,” he said.

Additionally, Minister S Jaishankar stated that AI, connectivity, and demographics will alter the world order.
“In the coming ten years, globalization could be weaponized, so the world needs to exercise caution.” Many individuals worldwide hold it responsible for the significant number of job losses and other unfavourable consequences of the revolution. He noted that the social and political backlash against globalization has gathered strength in the past ten years and that “this issue will remain as long as there is change (globalization).”.
Protectionism and the realities of globalization inevitably collide, he said.
The Minister of External Affairs added that the United Nations’ function in the modern world has diminished to that of a mere observer. Using the business sector as an example, he argued that the UN is an outdated organization that occupies a lot of space and does not adapt to the needs of the outside world.

Regarding the current Middle East war, he stated that disputes over land and sea commercial corridors will eventually give way to disputes over climate change. He went on to say that the stability of the region is being called into question since the Global South is experiencing the effects of these geopolitical tensions more severely than other regions.
