According to a survey, Python and machine learning are two of the most in-demand abilities companies seek to hire for Gen AI (Generative Artificial Intelligence) positions in India.
According to employment platform Indeed, “machine learning” is mentioned in over 42% of Gen AI positions in India, while “Python” is requested in 40% of them. These are the most sought-after talents for AI careers.

The site stated in a release on June 28 that “AI core skills and communication skills are also sought after, appearing in 36 percent and 23 percent of job ads, respectively.”
TensorFlow is in demand at 19%, data science at 17%, and natural language processing at 20% are other in-demand abilities.
The AI market in India is expanding rapidly; according to estimates from Nasscom and BCG, it will reach $17 billion by 2027 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 25–35 percent.
However, the quick expansion has resulted in a severe skills gap, as businesses are finding it difficult to hire competent individuals with the know-how to manage and execute these rapidly developing technologies, according to Indeed.
Over 85% of Indian companies surveyed recently expressed optimism about artificial intelligence (AI) creating new jobs in the next five years. To help us lead the AI era, the timing is right for a tech-led skills revolution, the business stated.

Indeed is used by over 3 million employers to locate and hire new workers. It is available in more than 60 countries and 28 languages.
“India needs to focus on improving skills to be a leader in global discussions about AI,” stated Sashi Kumar, Head of Sales at Indeed India. Kumar underlined the need to acquire these skills for individuals interested in AI, saying that businesses should support their employees’ further education to stay current with industry demands.
