Last month, Microsoft gave all Copilot users free access to OpenAI’s o1 reasoning model. Now, anyone can utilize the model and Copilot’s voice capabilities indefinitely. Microsoft is eliminating the restrictions that were previously placed on free users of Voice in Copilot and Think Deeper (powered by o1) to enable Copilot customers to have longer chats with the company’s AI assistant.
“Starting today with Voice and Think Deeper, we are working hard to scale unlimited access to advanced features to as many people as possible, as quickly as possible,” the Copilot team said. “Please be aware that there may be delays or interruptions during times of high demand or if we find misuse, security issues, or other violations of the Copilot Terms.”

What and where to use Voice and Think deep features from Copilot?
Get some hands-free cooking tips as you follow a new recipe step-by-step, or use Voice to practice a few basic phrases in a new language to help you navigate when traveling to a new country or meeting new people. You can also tell Copilot about a job you’re applying for and your work experience and ask it to conduct a mock interview.
When dealing with more complicated subjects, such as making a significant purchase, estimating the future value of a home improvement, or organizing a job change, Think Deeper can be useful. To help you get started, consider these quick ideas:
- Examine and contrast the top electric vehicles. Design and comfort are usually my top priorities, and I want to feel as though the item I buy is “future-proof.” Create a unique score system to aid in my evaluation.
- I have fifteen thousand dollars to renovate my house. I’m debating whether to replace the roof, remodel the bathroom, or install a kitchen island. Over the next three years, what would make my house worth more?
- Every time there is a strong wind, the neighborhood where I reside experiences a power outage. Do I need to purchase a generator? What are the benefits and drawbacks, factors I should think about, and how will they affect my convenience and budget?

Two years after Microsoft originally introduced Copilot into its Bing search engine, and only a month after the software company redesigned its Copilot Pro subscription and integrated Office AI technologies into Microsoft 365, Copilot Voice and Think Deeper are now available for unlimited use.
Microsoft says users “will retain preferred access to our latest models during peak usage, early access to experimental AI features (more on that coming soon), and additional use of Copilot in select Microsoft 365 apps like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.” The company is still selling its $20/month Copilot Pro subscription.
