Google Vids is now widely accessible for Google Workspace tiers after the April introduction and June testing.
Vids is Google’s newest Workspace app, joining Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs/Sheets/Slides, Chat, and Meet. Officially, teams in customer support, learning and development, project operations, and marketing can use the purple document symbol on docs.google.com/videos to “tell more engaging stories at work through video” without the need for video expertise. Other use cases that have been proposed include:
- Vids are being used by customer service teams to enhance customer support by adding videos to help center articles.
- To disseminate notifications and updates to the entire organization, leaders are using videos.
- Vids are being used by learning and development teams to provide staff education and training on a large scale.Â
- Videos are being used by marketers within their companies to provide summaries of their events and campaigns.
- Project management teams are creating videos to distribute report share-outs, business updates, and meeting summaries.

In order to “generate a fully editable initial storyboard” when you give a prompt and attach a Google Drive document, Gemini is crucial. Google Vids will add stock videos, pictures, and background music after you choose a style. Additionally, you receive a proposed script that you can either use yourself in the recording studio using a teleprompter or assign to an AI voice.
Similar to Google Slides, the more manual production procedure allows you to select from a variety of templates. Because it’s web-based, like other Google services, group cooperation is possible.
Anybody with a Google Workspace account can view and collaborate, whereas Google Workspace customers can build and replicate certain editions of Google Workspace and Gemini.
