Google has been facing a lot of controversy due to its recent AI-powered search results. Since then, they have restricted the search results feature which is powered by AI after it has given some bizarre and misleading suggestions.

It has been found that the AI has been suggesting eating rocks or several strange and misleading things, like asking to add glue to pizza and even suggesting that Barack Obama was Muslim.
One of the queries that was received by the Google AI was how many rocks an individual should eat, to which the AI responded, “Eating the right rocks can be good for you because they contain minerals that are important for your body’s health.”
Reid, Search Head of Google, stated that “ there isn’t much web content that seriously contemplates that question. However, in this case, there is satirical content on this topic… that also happened to be republished on a geological software provider’s website,” referring to the headline of an article by The Onion that read “ “Geologists Recommend Eating At Least One Small Rock Per Day.”
There have been several examples of AI being goofy and suggesting sarcastic content,t which can be found on any forum.

Reid said on Wednesday “At the scale of the web, with billions of queries coming in every day, there are bound to be some oddities and errors. As is always the case when we make improvements to Search, we don’t simply ‘fix’ queries one by one, but we work on updates that can help broad sets of queries, including new ones that we haven’t seen yet. We know that people trust Google Search to provide accurate information. We hold ourselves to a high standard, as do our users, so we expect and appreciate the feedback, and take it seriously.”
The Search Head of Google did confirm that there are more than a dozen technical improvements that are required to improve the present condition and for now, they think limiting the amount of “user-generated content response” is the best fit for the present scenario.
Although Google has faced several criticisms in the past few days, the company acknowledged the mistakes and claimed that they have already taken necessary steps to mitigate the errors that were there and implemented several steps to improve the AI-generated responses.
