Apple’s next major event is scheduled for September 9, 2024, at 1 PM ET / 10 AM PT. The Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park will host the event under the slogan “It’s Glowtime.”
The business is anticipated to unveil the iPhone 16 series at the event. The primary modification anticipated for the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus is adopting a vertically oriented camera setup on the rear side. (If the final phones resemble the mockups of the iPhone 16, I’m already very much in favor of this modification.)
Although the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max are expected to retain Apple’s well-known three-camera configuration, they may have larger screens. Another possible hue for those phones is bronze.

The Action Button, which was limited to the Pro line with the iPhone 15, is anticipated to be included on all four iPhone 16 models. It’s unknown if the new button on Apple’s iPhones—which could be restricted to the Pro model or available on the standard iPhone 16 models as well—will be used for taking pictures and videos.
A significant portion of Apple’s event will probably involve AI and the company’s Apple Intelligence capabilities. The iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max are currently the only iPhone models that enable Apple Intelligence, however, it is claimed that the whole iPhone 16 series will support the feature. (Well, that is, once Apple Intelligence is genuinely accessible.)
Notably, after iOS 18.1 beta is released, owners of iPhone 15 Pros who are registered in the beta program and have access to the iOS 18 beta will be able to test out the Apple Intelligence capabilities. Apple won’t, however, make all of the capabilities available for testing.
The iOS 18.1 update is anticipated to include features including AI capabilities, notification summaries, and writing aids. However, it won’t be possible to access more sophisticated features until late 2024 or early 2025. Examples of these include the integration of OpenAI’s ChatGPT into Siri, Image Playground for image synthesis, and Genmoji for AI-generated emojis.
