The base model, Krutrim, is a large language model (LLM) trained on an impressive two trillion tokens, a substantial portion of which represents Indic languages, setting it apart from existing models. 22 Indian languages, and it can generate content in approximately 10 of them, including Marathi, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Odia, Gujarati, and Malayalam.
The base large language model, named Krutrim, promises to outperform even GPT-4 on Indic language performance. Beyond linguistic prowess, Krutrim’s voice capabilities enable nuanced interactions, reflecting an understanding of the Indian ethos.
Krutrim’s roadmap extends further with the upcoming Krutrim Pro, a multi-modal model set to enhance problem-solving and task-execution capabilities. Early access sign-ups for the base model have commenced, with a full open release scheduled for January 2024. Developers can access Krutrim APIs from February 2024.
