Visual Capitalist did a study using the previous ten years using data from Quide obtained through Stanford’s 2024 AI Index Report. The study highlighted 15 countries with the most AI startups.Â
The study included startups founded between 2013 and 2023. Only companies were taken into consideration if they had secured private investment above $1.5 million.

The US, China, and the UK are the top three countries with the most startups in AI. The United States is leading, with private AI investments totaling $335 billion between 2013 and 2023. AI firms in China raised $104 billion within the same period, whereas those in the United Kingdom raised $22 billion.
According to Visual Capitalist, private investment in the United States increased by 22% over 2022 levels. Meanwhile, investment declined in China (-44%) and the United Kingdom (-14.1%) during the same period.
