YouTube Music’s AI Playlist Feature ‘Ask Music’ Now Available for Premium Users: Try It Today

Numerous music streaming applications are available, all essentially offering the same content. Sometimes all you need is a playlist synopsis, which is something that Spotify and other services excel at providing.

With a wider release, the brand’s new ‘Ask Music’ function is now officially available on the app, allowing more users to make a playlist they’ll love by just entering a request and letting AI handle the heavy lifting. This functionality, which we first noticed in July, is finally making its way to a larger user base (via 9to5Google). Now, you should be aware that not every YouTube Music subscriber can access it before opening the app and trying it.

Either by directly signing up with the service or by receiving the benefit through a YouTube Premium subscription, those who wish to make use of this new function must be YouTube Music Premium subscribers. According to what we can currently observe, if you meet the prerequisites, you should be met with a new splash screen that details Ask Music within the app.

When you click the “try it now” button, a prompt inquiring, “What you’re in the mood for?” will appear. As soon as you start typing, the app will use your text to create a new playlist, hopefully with songs you’ll want to listen to. This function is amazing since it will automatically label the playlist and add a description, and it will populate a variety of music based on your request.

Naturally, this is an experimental function, and it won’t always get things right, just like any other AI-powered service.
