YouTube Music’s new AI-powered ‘Ask Music’ feature lets Premium users create personalized playlists effortlessly. By simply typing a request, the app generates playlists with matching songs, making the music experience smoother and more tailored to your taste.

Numerous music streaming applications are available, all essentially offering the same content. However, there are additional reasons why we are drawn to other services; these reasons could be as minor as the user interface (UI) or as important as special features. Sometimes all you need is a playlist synopsis, which is something that Spotify and other services excel at providing.
For whatever reason, it’s the little things that count in this situation that motivate music streaming services to keep trying new things—some are even attempting to use artificial intelligence (AI) to offer something fresh. Although the outcomes of these features have been inconsistent, it appears like YouTube Music is going to take a chance and provide users with a new, hassle-free method of creating personalized playlists.

With a wider release, the brand’s new ‘Ask Music’ function is now officially available on the app, allowing more users to make a playlist they’ll love by just entering a request and letting AI handle the heavy lifting. This functionality, which we first noticed in July, is finally making its way to a larger user base (via 9to5Google). Now, you should be aware that not every YouTube Music subscriber can access it before opening the app and trying it.
Either by directly signing up with the service or by receiving the benefit through a YouTube Premium subscription, those who wish to make use of this new function must be YouTube Music Premium subscribers. According to what we can currently observe, if you meet the prerequisites, you should be met with a new splash screen that details Ask Music within the app.

When you click the “try it now” button, a prompt inquiring, “What you’re in the mood for?” will appear. As soon as you start typing, the app will use your text to create a new playlist, hopefully with songs you’ll want to listen to. This function is amazing since it will automatically label the playlist and add a description, and it will populate a variety of music based on your request.
Naturally, this is an experimental function, and it won’t always get things right, just like any other AI-powered service. However, the YouTube Music Premium app now offers it as a card if that piques your curiosity. Open the app and give it a try if you have a Premium subscription. Additionally, try updating the app if you haven’t seen the functionality yet.
