X platform has expanded its audio and video calling features to all its customers, ignoring whether they have opted for subscriptions. Earlier this feature was only limited to premium customers on subscription.
X by Elon Musk Rolls Out Audio & Video Calls for All Users
Elon Musk announced on X, which was formerly Twitter will now have the facility to place audio and video calls on both Android and iOS platforms for non-paying customers.
This feature when introduced in 2023 for iPhone users that to on premium subscriptions has now been expanded to Android users.
As mentioned on the company’s official support page, the latest update is made available to all users.
“As soon as we are confident that it is robust, A/V calling will roll out widely to X users,” confirmed X’s chief, Elon Musk.
Earlier in January 2024 also Elon Musk mentioned that this calling feature would be available for all its users.
The company is expanding the audio-video calling features in phases to ease the process.
To add a layer of privacy, users manage who can call them using this feature upgrade.
X’s calling feature is located in the message section by default for all the followers, one might change it to verified user or follower.
To initiate a call with a user one needs to send at least one message first. It also gives an enhanced call privacy feature to hide the IP address.
Elon Musk also intimated that X might also have its own Xmail facility an alternative to Gmail which is currently trending in the market.
Musk markets X as an everything app as soon as it was launched and the company is working on giving out more and more features to make the statement true.
