WhatsApp’s AI Feature “Imagine Me” to Change Photo Backgrounds: Forests, Space, and More

WhatsApp is developing an AI-powered feature that allows users to create images with different backgrounds like space or underwater. Discover how this innovative tool works.

WhatsApp is developing a feature that, with the help of artificial intelligence, will be able to create pictures of users in different surroundings. The feature is still in progress; however, it will let people upload reference selfies and then generate new images based on them depicting people in different environments, like a forest or space.

Key Points :

i) Feature: It will allow to creation of new images and change backgrounds, like being in outer space or undersea

ii) Status: It is still in the development phase.

iii) Tech Model: Users may change between language models like Meta’s Llama 3-405B and Llama 3-70B

How to Turn Off or Get Rid of Meta AI on Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook?

Initially, this feature was noticed by WABetaInfo in the newest WhatsApp beta for Android with version 2.24.14.7. It is not for public use yet it is not known when it will be made available. However, one recently leaked screenshot hinting at the operational workflow of the tool indicates that it will be extremely friendly for its users as one only needs to input a few example images into the application to get a job done.

This new feature relies on Meta AI, which has just been launched and is currently active in the United States of America and India. Meta AI is a chatbot that can be integrated into one-on-one conversations and group conversations. It is intended to ask questions of the user and help the user out in one way or another, including making suggestions.

How to use Meta AI in WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger to Get Rapid Answers

Although using the introduced AI-based photo feature,, I was not able to think of many scenarios when it would be useful, One of the possible and interesting scenarios is the creation of stickers for further usage in the WhatsApp dialogue. Meta could also use this feature as a way of creating a user presence and closed user group, and possibly monetizing it in the future.

Besides the disclosed AI-generated photo feature and new screen, WABetaInfo has also detected another screen that would enable the users to choose between different language model sizes. The new larger language model of Llama is a large improvement over the current Llama 3-70B model with the formal title of Llama 3-405B. Now, there is a suggestion that there is a weekly rate limit for responses from the larger model to the users.

Thus, it can be said that WhatsApp is still active in developing novelties and possibilities of applying AI within the app. It is only a matter of time to see when this new feature is going to be released and how people are going to react to it.
