Spotify launched the AI playlist in Beta to let premium users create a playlist from whatever idea or mood they have at any point in time. Spotify uses text prompts along with artificial technology to curate music as per the user’s choice. 

Spotify’s AI playlist feature is rolling out initially only to users on Android and iOS devices in the United Kingdom and Australia. Creating an AI playlist is as simple as writing a text prompt referring to any movie character, artist, place, color, emotion, or even animal.

• Spotify’s personalization technology: This gives a lineup of music recommendations based on the music listeners behavior. The DJ knows our music taste so well that it will scan the latest releases we know you’ll like, or take you back to that nostalgic playlist you had on repeat last year
• Generative AI through the use of OpenAI technology: Spotify music editors to provide you with insightful facts about the music, artists, or genres you’re listening to. With this music generating tool, editors can scale their innate knowledge in ways never before possible.

Where can I find the Spotify DJ?

• Spotify is available in English for Spotify Premium users in the U.S. and Canada.
• You need to go to the Music Feed on Home in the Spotify mobile app on your iOS or Android device.
• Tap Play on the DJ card
• Let Spotify do the rest! The DJ will serve a lineup of music alongside short commentary on the songs and artists, picked just for you
• Just hit the DJ button at the bottom right of the screen to be taken to a different genre, artist, or mood.

How to Personalized Playlist with Spotify AI DJ?

• Open the Spotify mobile app on your smartphone. Now select the “Your Library” option at the bottom right corner of the screen.
• As Your Library opens, tap the “+” button at the app’s top-right corner and select “AI Playlist.”
• Either select any prompt from the suggestions or type any of the ideas going in your mind. You can get as creative as possible but be very specific! For example, you can try “Going Out with Girls Tonight Make Me a Playlist to Hit the Dance Floor” or “Tracks for Horse Riding into the Sunset”.
• Wait and watch as Spotify will show a list of tracks to match your mood and vibe.
• You can also modify the list through preview by deleting or adding tracks. If you have notes you might tell the AI what exactly you are looking for such as “less upbeat” or “more pop”.
• Once done, you can tap the “create” icon and your playlist will be automatically saved in the Spotify Library.

Spotify is testing the AI feature in Beta mode right now and plans to innovate and improvise based on the feedback received. Even though this feature is designed to be a fun experience for the users, the app in beta mode won’t produce music for non-music-related prompts like current events or specific brands.
