What is Amazon Bedrock? AWS Generative AI Tool Powered by Mistral

Amazon Bedrock announced its collaboration with Mistral AI to democratize generative AI. AWS is the only cloud provider to offer customers the most popular and advanced FMs. Mistral AI is the latest and most capable model to be added to Amazon Bedrock services.

Amazon Bedrock announced its collaboration with Mistral AI through a blog post today to empower customers to experiment, evaluate, and ultimately select the model that delivers optimal performance for their needs.

Mistral AI is a French startup that has quickly established itself as a pioneering force in the generative AI landscape, known for its focus on portability, transparency, and cost-effective design, which requires fewer computational resources to run. 

Amazon Bedrock already has Mistral 7B and Mixtral 8x7B models accessible for its customers and now Mistral Large will also be available on Amazon Bedrock.

Mistral Large is the latest and most capable model by Mistral AI. Mistral Large boasts exceptional language understanding and generation capabilities, making it ideal for complex tasks requiring reasoning capabilities or highly specialized ones, such as synthetic text generation, code generation, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), or agents. 

Mistral Large’s exceptional multilingual performance, spanning French, German, Spanish, and Italian, in addition to English, presents a compelling opportunity for customers.

Mistral AI will also use AWS AI-optimized AWS Trainium and AWS Inferentia to build and deploy its future foundation models on Amazon Bedrock, benefiting from AWS’s price, performance, scale, and security.

With the collaboration of Mistral AI and Amazon Bedrock, customers will have access to a broader range of top-performing LLMS.
