Perplexity AI is releasing its Pro Search function for intricate queries on Android Devices

The artificial intelligence (AI) search engine platform Perplexity AI launched a new function last week called Pro Search. Users may now access the feature in the Android app by simply toggling the Pro button underneath the text field. 

The AI company claims that the functionality leverages multi-step reasoning to find solutions to intricate questions that cannot be resolved by searching online databases. Users can use the feature for free, albeit there are some limitations.

Although the feature was not officially announced by the firm, some customers are now able to access it through the Perplexity AI app for Android. Remarkably, Pro Search was launched on July 2nd.

Users can look beneath the text box, where a new Pro toggle is visible, to activate Pro Search. By turning it on, users can continue to ask questions that would often require multiple searches. Perplexity will display the Pro Search icon and indicate the number of steps required to reach the result when searching for it. Users can see all the sources that were consulted to create the answer below.

The AI company noted when launching the functionality that Pro Search evaluates search results and acts intelligently in response to its conclusions to arrive at the solution. Conducting follow-up searches that expand on earlier results is another step in this process. Users can ask the AI complex math and programming-related questions in addition to search queries.

Essentially, a standard search on Perplexity differs from a Pro Search in that the former provides quick, precise responses supported by references, while the latter asks more detailed questions and yields more thorough results.

All users can currently use the Pro Search tool. The first five inquiries may be accessed by free users every four hours, nevertheless. Users will need to pay $20 (about Rs.1,670) each month for the Perplexity Pro subscription to access limitless pro searches.
