Microsoft-backed OpenAI Hits $2 Billion Revenue
OpenAI, the global leader in the artificial intelligence (AI) startup backed by Microsoft, has reached a significant milestone with its revenue surpassing $2 billion in December, as reported by various media organizations.
This achievement mainly lies in the company’s exponential growth mainly due to the huge success of its ChatGPT product. According to information available, OpenAI’s annualized revenue had surged to $1.6 billion in December, marking a substantial increase from $1.3 billion reported in mid-October.
It is also reported that the company remains optimistic about its prospects, projecting that it could more than double this figure by 2025, driven by heightened interest from business clients looking to integrate generative AI tools into their operations.
Recently, OpenAI’s CEO, Sam Altman, is in discussions with various investors, including entities from the UAE, to secure funding for a tech initiative aimed at bolstering global chip-building capabilities. This initiative seeks to expand OpenAI’s capacity to power AI applications.
