As a major source of revenue growth, OpenAI is stepping up the development of several “AI agent” products.
According to a story by The Information, the AI startup that created ChatGPT wants to charge up to $20,000 per month for specialized AI “agents” that are made to carry out particular software engineering and research activities.
According to the article, OpenAI plans to introduce many “agent” solutions for various uses, such as software engineering and sorting and ranking sales leads.

According to the report, OpenAI intends to introduce a “high-income knowledge worker” agent that will be available for $2,000 per month. The monthly salary for an aspiring software developer agent is reportedly $10,000.
According to reports, the company’s most costly agent, designed to conduct “PhD-level research,” will cost $20,000 a month.
Although the exact date of OpenAI’s anticipated release of these AI agent-based solutions is unknown, The Information revealed that Softbank, the company’s investor, has pledged to spend $3 billion on OpenAI’s agent products this year alone.
The funds are necessary for OpenAI. After covering operational expenditures and other expenses, the business lost over $5 billion last year.

OpenAI introduced a new AI tool called Deep Research in February of this year. It can collect data from the internet and synthesize it to provide an extensive report at the level of a research analyst.
