Amazon has launched a new feature called GenAI (generative Artificial Intelligence) which will help sellers with product listings on the Amazon website. Users just need to provide their DTC (direct-to-consumer) website URL to Amazon. It will automatically create the product page with complete descriptions, images, reviews, and other things.
This will save a lot of time, energy, and resources for the seller for product listing and allow them to focus on the quality and other aspects of the product. The new GenAI feature by Amazon for sellers will initially be in the US.

The company said in a blog post on its website, “In addition to using sparse amounts of text or an image to generate listings, we are now launching the ability for sellers to simply leverage their existing listings by just providing Amazon with a URL, which is automatically parsed by our generative AI-based features, to seamlessly create high-quality, engaging listings for Amazon’s store.”
To safeguard the security issues linked with the new generation of AI features rolling out, Amazon may take legal action against anyone found using a fake URL or registered in somebody else’s name. The DTC must be in the name of the seller or the owner to authenticate the proper use of this new generative AI feature for product listing.
Earlier, Amazon released a GenAI tool called Rufus to enhance the shopping experience for customers. It would work on the Amazon mobile app by helping customers with recommendations, advice, and product comparisons. Customers can put their queries in the form of questions.

Another tool that was rolled out earlier by Amazon would help sellers list products just by entering a few words. The tech giant’s text-to-image tool was also very helpful for the users.
When Amazon tested the AI-generated and non-AI-generated product listings, 80% accuracy was found, and customers usually liked the suggestions more as a result. They also said in the blog post, “We’ve compared the AI-generated content to non-AI generated content and found improvements across measures of clarity, accuracy, and detail, which can increase a product’s discoverability when customers search in Amazon’s store. We are also hearing from sellers that it saves them time, so they can focus more of their attention on developing great products, a benefit particularly valuable to small businesses and customers.”
Other companies, like eBay, and Google, are also using these generative AI tools to simplify product listings on their websites. Most of them provide images for AI tools to list products. The latest to enter the list was Shopify, which launched its AI-enabled image editor for product listings.
