Microsoft Taps DeepMind Co-Founder Suleyman to Lead New AI Division

Microsoft has made a significant move that underscores its commitment to advancing artificial intelligence (AI), It has appointed Mustafa Suleyman, co-founder of the renowned British AI lab DeepMind, to spearhead a new AI division. Suleyman, a British tech pioneer, co-founded DeepMind alongside Demis Hassabis and Shane Legg in 2010, a venture that quickly gained recognition for its groundbreaking AI research. Following Google’s acquisition of DeepMind in 2014, Suleyman played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s AI endeavors, ultimately merging with another unit to form Google DeepMind in 2023.

Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, announced Suleyman’s appointment in a blog post, highlighting his admiration for Suleyman’s track record as a founder and visionary in the AI space.
