GitHub and Infosys Open Bangalore Center to Drive AI-Powered Digital Transformation and Global Innovation

GitHub and Infosys launch Bangalore's first GitHub Center of Excellence, leveraging AI and advanced software to boost global economic growth and software development efficiency. Discover how this partnership aims to lead AI and software innovations worldwide.

In an important step towards quickening India’s digital transformation, GitHub and Infosys have joined forces to open Bangalore’s first GitHub Center of Excellence. Through the use of artificial intelligence and cutting-edge software, this effort seeks to promote economic growth on a worldwide scale.

This partnership aims to improve software production speed and efficiency globally by integrating GitHub Copilot throughout Infosys’ development teams and expanding its capabilities to their clients. Through the relationship, Global Systems Integrators (GSIs) will have a generational chance to lead the way in software and AI developments.

The CEO of GitHub, Thomas Dohmke, wrote on LinkedIn, “The global GSI community has entered a new era. The era of copilots is arrived.”

The launch event, which was attended by Infosys leaders Bali (Balakrishna) D., executive VP of Infosys, and CTO Rafee Tarafdar, demonstrated the partnership’s potential to generate new economic value and innovation in the global software industry.

GitHub has shown confidence in India’s ability to empower its developers. GitHub and Infosys collaborated to produce a movie during Dohmke’s visit to India that showcases how Infosys is assisting developers in India and throughout the globe. GitHub also posted a video on X regarding the same.

GitHub has good reason to be interested in India. With data from the fourth quarter of 2023, the firm has just launched its Innovation Graph, which offers a thorough look at developer activities around the world during the previous four years.

The latest data charts demonstrate how developers in India are using AI more and more, as evidenced by an increase in project documentation. The popularity of chat-based generative AI technologies like GitHub Copilot Chat and ChatGPT is a major driving force behind this trend.
