As Artificial Intelligence evolving every industry, the French Police also plans to feature AI technology for security surveillance at the upcoming Paris Olympics games.
French Police Testing AI-based Cameras
The French police are preparing themselves for the upcoming Paris Olympics in 2024. For security surveillance of the main event, the French police plan to use artificial intelligence (AI)-powered cameras. It can detect any kind of disturbance and is the most controversial tool right now on the market. The AI-powered camera can detect up to eight disturbances in an area, including the presence or use of weapons, traffic that goes against the flow, crowd movement, the presence of people in prohibited zones, abandoned packages, fire, overcrowding, or a body on the ground.
Based on the observation of the surveillance cameras, the operators will decide whether to report the event to the police for any actions.

To check the AI-powered security cameras for the Paris Olympics, French police have decided to put them on test at two upcoming Depeche Mode concerts in Paris this week. The people attending the Depeche Mode concerts on Sunday and Tuesday are subjects for trial. The French police have installed six such surveillance cameras in the arena to monitor crowd movement and suspicious movement, if any.
It must also be noted that the Paris government has made a law to permit the use of AI (Artificial Intelligence) Technology for sports and recreational purposes. This law was made after the sad incident in the Champions League Final game held in 2022 at State de France between Liverpool and Real Madrid. Some fans got so badly stuck in the crowd that they needed to be pepper sprayed by riot police.

This AI-powered technology is growing in every field, especially in unique cases wherein manly surveillance is not enough. The US government also plans to use this technology for surveillance in the war zone. French police also plan to expand it to the entertainment sector, blockchain ecosystem, etc. including the security system.
