Meta has launched a new AI assistant built on the latest Llama 3 model, which is believed to be more intelligent, faster, and fun than before.
Meta AI could be used in feeds, chats, searches, and more across Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, and Messenger apps to get things done and access real-time information.
According to the official blog, earlier, Meta AI was available in the English language to people in the US. Still, with this update, it is being rolled out to people in Australia, Canada, Ghana, Jamaica, Malawi, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, Singapore, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO and founder of Meta, also took to his Instagram handle and posted about the new Meta AI assistant.
What are the features of Meta AI?
- Meta AI website: Users can also access the Meta AI directly from their computer through a dedicated website i.e. meta.ai to help them solve math problems, write more professional emails, and other things. The conversations with Meta AI could be saved for future reference by login.
- Seamless Search Integration in the Apps – Meta AI is also available in search across Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger. Users can access real-time information from across the web without having to bounce between apps. Let’s say a user is planning a ski trip in their Messenger group chat. Using search in Messenger they can ask Meta AI to find flights to Colorado from New York and figure out the least crowded weekends to go that too all without leaving the Messenger app.
- Meta AI Feed Integration – Users can access Meta AI even when scrolling through the Facebook feed. They can ask questions about the feed or stories they are watching on the platform. Say, for example, if a user sees a photo of the Northern lights in Iceland, they can ask Meta AI about the best time of the year to see them.
- Image creation with Meta AI – The process of image generation has become faster and easier using Meta AI’s Imagine feature that generates and changes the image as you start typing in real time. The Imagine feature has been rolled out in beta on WhatsApp and Meta AI web experience in the US. The images generated with this feature are also now sharper and higher quality, with a better ability to include text in images. Meta AI can generate images that bring a person’s vision to life, it even provides prompt suggestions and can animate or convert any image into a gif to be shared with friends.

- Planning a night out with friends? Ask Meta AI to recommend a restaurant with sunset views and vegan options.
- Organizing a weekend getaway? Ask Meta AI to find concerts for Saturday night.
- Cramming for a test? Ask Meta AI to explain how hereditary traits work.
- Moving into your first apartment? Ask Meta AI to “imagine” the aesthetic you’re going for and it will generate some inspirational photos for your furniture shopping.
As the update for Meta AI is being rolled out gradually to more people worldwide, the company looks forward to positive feedback and improvisation further with time. Meta AI is also accessible on its VR headset, Meta Quest, and plans future integration with the platform and Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses.
