Bill Gates Envisions a 3-Day Work Week with the Rise of AI

Bill Gates, in a recent appearance on Trevor Noah’s podcast, highlighted the broader purpose of life beyond jobs and proposed a future where artificial intelligence (AI) could enable a reduced workweek to as little as three days. Emphasising that if machines handle production, a lighter work schedule might be viable, Gates pointed out the evolving nature of labour and the importance of aligning skills with demand.

Acknowledging job displacement due to technological advancements, Gates stressed the significance of gradual transitions, citing the decline in the number of farmers across generations as an example.
