Anthropic Launches Claude 3: AI model outperforms GPT 4 on multiple parameters

Anthropic Introduces Claude 3 AI Models, Claims Its Chatbot Outperforms GPT-4 and Gemini. Anthropic’s new AI model series includes Claude 3 Haiku, Claude 3 Sonnet, and Claude 3 Opus.

Anthropic, an AI (Artificial Intelligence) startup formed by ex-researchers from Open AI—the company behind Chat GPT has rolled out its most intelligent, powerful, and fast AI model, named Claude 3. It includes three models in the ascending order of their capabilities, namely Claude 3 Haiku, Claude 3 Sonnet, and Claude 3 Opus.

Anthropic has raised around $ 7.3 billion in the past year from Google, Amazon, and Salesforce. The company claims to have worked on the challenges that previous chatbots have faced, offering a balance between speed, intelligence, and cost depending on their specific use.

Claude is a group of LLMs ( Large Language Models) capable of handling voice messages, text, and documents developed by Anthropic. Out of the three chatbot versions released, Claude 3 Opus is the most powerful and available only through Anthropic’s web chat interface. It is also available for $20 a month if a user has subscribed on the Anthropic website to the Claude Pro service.

The Claude 3 Sonnet is available for free at present and is a middle model in terms of capacity and price. Users can access it directly by signing by their email ID.

Claude 3 Haiku is also freely available at present and just needs to be signed in using the email ID. It is lightweight and used for cases that require instant responses.

Anthropic Launches Claude 3 with Strong Vision Capabilities

The Claude 3 models have sophisticated vision capabilities on par with other leading models. They can process a wide range of visual formats, including photos, charts, graphs, and technical diagrams. We’re particularly excited to provide this new modality to our enterprise customers, some of whom have up to 50% of their knowledge bases encoded in various formats such as PDFs, flowcharts, or presentation slides.

Claude 3 might be good at Optical Character Recognition (OCR), answering factual questions, and extracting text from images but struggles with mathematical problems and complex reasoning at times. Anthropic has laid special emphasis on following safety issues so that the model does not generate any illegal content.

Anthropic has plans to release affordable versions soon in the market as Claude is the most expensive model in the market. Let’s hope this AI model proves true to its words and does not generate biased content like Google and Meta.
