Google AI Essentials Course: No Experience Needed, Learn AI Tools and Get Certified

Google’s new AI Essentials course offers a beginner-friendly way to learn AI, Prompt Engineering, and Large Language Models in just 10 hours. No prior experience is needed, and participants will receive certification upon completion, equipping them with crucial AI skills for the workplace.

It is a fact that artificial intelligence is quickly engulfing every aspect of society, including the workplace and education. Today’s workforce favours people with relevant AI skills, which is one of the main reasons job seekers worldwide enrol in AI and machine learning courses as a first step toward a lucrative career.

These days, organizations all over the world provide a variety of AI certification programs, both on-site and online, to help people succeed in their chosen fields of employment. Google, the tech titan, has developed a course called “AI Essentials.

What is the course called Google AI Essentials?

According to Google, its new AI Essentials course will teach students how to use generative AI tools to help with task acceleration, decision-making, and the creation of new ideas and content in the workplace.

Participants will also learn how to create powerful prompts and utilize AI ethically by recognizing its potential biases and preventing harm during the ten hours of self-paced study.

Interestingly, no prior experience is required for the Google AI Essentials course. They will be instructed by Google AI specialists and can begin at the beginning level.

Participants should have acquired the following four critical abilities by the end of the course:

Candidates will also receive a certificate that they can give to their network or potential employers.

The five modules of the course

The AI Essential course is divided into five modules, each with its own specific focus areas and study elements. These include:

  1. Introduction to AI (1 hour): This session covers the fundamentals of generative AI and how it can be applied to activities that need to be completed at work. It includes two tasks, four readings, eleven educational videos, and one plugin.
  2. Boost Productivity with AI-Powered Tools: Two hours: In this session, attendees will receive an overview of the critical role that humans play in the efficient application of AI and learn about the kinds of workplace tasks that AI can help with. They will also be able to decide whether AI is appropriate for a certain task and how to employ AI to speed up workflows. There are eleven videos, five readings, and three tasks in this module.
  3. Learn the Art of Prompt Engineering (2 hours): This session will enable learners to use few-shot prompting and other prompting strategies in their work. By the end of the module, they will be able to create outputs that assist in completing tasks at work and write clear and precise prompts. This curriculum consists of nine videos, five readings, three assignments, and one plugin.
  4. Employ AI Sensibly for One Hour: To understand how to utilize AI responsibly and effectively, participants will learn how to apply a framework of AI harms to example workplace scenarios and identify the security concerns associated with employing AI in the workplace. There are two readings, eight videos, and one homework.
  5. Keep Ahead of the AI Curve (2 hours): Learn how to advance your knowledge of the present and developing AI landscape and keep abreast of upcoming advancements in AI. There are nine videos, four readings, three assignments, and one plugin in this curriculum.

More than 6 lakh individuals have applied since Google AI Essentials opened for enrollment on October 2, 2024.
