Grok AI vs OpenAI ChatGPT vs Google Bard: The tech-savvy community is baffled by the news of Grok, a new AI bot by xAI. It is a language-generative AI model that is said to be based on ‘Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’ and is set to deliver solutions for anything and everything.

After ChatGPT and Google Bard, Grok AI is the third chatbot in a row. While many may be confused about the capabilities and features of all three, Grok AI has some different advantages. Let’s explore the differences and similarities between Grok AI, OpenAI ChatGPT, and Google Bard:

Grok AI

Grok AI is specially designed to answer questions from diverse backgrounds with real-time knowledge from X, formerly Twitter. The AI chatbot from xAI is developed to answer spicy questions that are usually not accepted by other systems. The Grok-1, working on the principles of LLM showcases a state-of-the-art language model that has achieved 63.2% on the HumanEval coding task and 73% on MMLU.

According to xAI, Grok has access to search tools and real-time information, but as with all the LLMs trained on next-token prediction, the model can still generate false or contradictory information. It is believed that achieving reliable reasoning is the most important research direction to address the limitations of current systems.

ChatGPT

ChatGPT by Microsoft is a large-scale language generation model that generates text on human prompts. It is programmed to deliver solutions in the form of question answers, translation, and text summarization. The LLM-powered chatbot is known for generating coherent and contextually significant text however, it is limited to information available till 2021.

The AI bot released in 2022 is super easy to use because of its unique dialogue format. As per OpenAI, ChatGPT can respond to follow-up inquiries, acknowledge its errors, refute false premises, and refuse unsuitable requests.

Google Bard

Google Bard is an AI platform developed by Google. The AI chatbot powered by LaMDA under a project called “Atlas,” as part of Google’s “code red,” provides conversational services to humans. It was developed with the idea to revert with more human language rather than focusing on keywords. For example, users can ask Bard to do things like draft an article outline, summarize text, and translate a document from one language to another.

According to Google CEO Sundar Pichai, “One of the most exciting opportunities is how AI can deepen our understanding of information and turn it into useful knowledge more efficiently, making it easier for people to get to the heart of what they’re looking for and get things done.” Bard is creating completely new ways for users to interact with information through the combination of language, images, and audio with video with LaMDA, PaLM, Imagen, and MusicLM.
