Google, during its annual I/O event, announced rolling out AI Overview (previously called SGE) to users in the United States. It is an experiment in Search Labs that lets you see AI overviews on more Google searches and offers access to additional generative AI features in Search. Based on your search query, it displays AI-generated answers on top of the search results, pushing down the blue links.
However, this new replacement of the Search Labs experiment known as SGE did not draw much attention. Many users are looking for ways to turn off AI Overview on Google Search. In this article, we have jotted down different methods to turn off AI Overview on Google.
How To Turn Off AI Overview on Google?
Google, in their help document, has mentioned that turning off “AI Overviews and More” in Search Labs will not disable all AI Overviews in Search. AI Overviews are part of Google Search like other features, such as knowledge panels, and can’t be turned off. However, there is a way to reduce AI inclusion within the output.
