How to turn off Meta AI Meta AI on Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook?

Unfortunately, you cannot simply turn off Meta AI entirely, but you can mute it for the desired period. For example, one of the most bothersome features, Meta AI Chat, can be curtailed by following a few simple steps.

Facebook

Check the easy steps to turn off Meta Artificial Intelligence chat on Facebook below: 

Step 1: Open Facebook and look for the search bar, which appears as a blue-gradient circle.

Step 2: Tap on the blue circle to open the search bar.

Step 3: Once on the search bar, click the blue arrow that appears to the right.

Step 4: You will be headed to the Meta AI chat. 

Step 5: Now, look for the “i” icon in the upper right corner and click it.

Step 6: Click the “mute” option that appears on the next page.

Step 7: Select how long you want to mute the chat.

Instagram

The process on Instagram is much the same as on Facebook, just with a slightly different interface.

Step 1: Click on the search option available on your Instagram home page.

Step 2: You will see a blue-gradient circle on the right side of the search bar.

Step 3: Tap on the circle, and you will be headed to the Meta AI chat dashboard.

Step 4: Now tap on the ‘i’ button available in the top right corner.

Step 5: Look for the ‘Mute’ option. 

Step 6: Select the desired duration to turn off the chat option. 

WhatsApp

You can easily remove the Meta AI chat thread that shows up in WhatsApp and Messenger. This will remove the conversation and remove it from your contact list, making the AI functions relatively easy to ignore. 

Also, to disable the ‘Show Meta AI Button” in WhatsApp, follow the below steps: 

Step 1: Go to Settings in your WhatsApp.

Step 2: Open Chats

Step 3: Toggle off the ‘Show Meta AI Button’.

This hides the button that triggers Meta AI functionality within chats.

Meta AI isn’t a standalone program. It is a set of artificial intelligence tools built into WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook. Although total deactivation is not feasible, you should reevaluate your search preferences, restrict the content recommendations, and concentrate on exploring other options and using external search engines.
