Bengaluru-Based CynLr unveils Semi-Humanoid Robot ‘CyRo’, Redefining Industrial Automation

Bengaluru-based robotics company CynLr introduces CyRo, a multi-arm visual robot platform piloted with industry giants like General Motors and Denso, poised to revolutionize industrial automation.

Bengaluru-based robotics firm CynLr has taken a significant leap forward in the realm of industrial automation with the unveiling of its groundbreaking semi-humanoid robot, CyRo. Launched at the Robotics Summit & Expo in Boston, this multi-arm vision-guided robotic manipulator is designed to intuitively grasp objects under various lighting conditions, showcasing its versatility by handling even complex reflective items.

Unlike traditional robotic systems that require extensive custom engineering and environmental modification, CyRo’s human-eye-inspired vision and intelligence stack allows it to intuitively understand and interact with objects without prior training or hardware customization.

This unique feature significantly reduces the effort and time typically associated with reprogramming robots for new tasks, making CyRo a highly adaptable solution for various industries.

Gokul NA, founder of design, product, and brand at CynLr, emphasized the significance of bridging the gap between technology and perception in robotics. By embedding intelligence and perception capabilities within CyRo, CynLr aims to eliminate the need for extensive training or customization, offering a solution that is both efficient and adaptable.

CyRo’s approach represents a shift in the robotics industry, focusing on perception and manipulation capabilities. While most robots prioritize mobility, Gokul points out that many neglect the crucial aspect of visual perception, which is essential for practical and commercial deployment. CyRo addresses this gap, offering a truly intuitive robotic experience.

The positive reception to CyRo has extended beyond India’s borders, with the company opening a hardware design facility in Switzerland. CynLr is leveraging Switzerland’s skilled talent and advanced research facilities to further develop visual robots. Back in Bengaluru, the startup’s R&D center, H.I.V.E, continues to drive innovation.

Nikhil Ramaswamy, co-founder and CEO of CynLr, expressed confidence in CyRo’s potential to revolutionize industrial automation. With positive feedback already pouring in from the US, CynLr envisions CyRo as a catalyst for the emergence of ‘Universal Factories,’ capable of accommodating a wide range of products seamlessly.

CynLr’s semi-humanoid robot is already making waves, with pilots underway at General Motors and Denso. As CyRo continues to gain traction, its groundbreaking visual intelligence technology could redefine the robotics landscape.
