David Ding began his career as a Research Intern at heyzap.com in 2013, where he spent four months working in the San Francisco Bay Area. 

Following this, he engaged in research with the MIT PRIMES Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), focusing on representation theory and achieving notable recognitions including winning 4th place in the Intel Science Talent Search and earning scholarships from the Davidson Scholar program. Moving forward, he interned as a Software Engineering Intern at Google in Mountain View, California, contributing to the Search Quality Team. 

Subsequently, David served as a Teaching Fellow for CS 124 (Algorithms and Data Structures) at Harvard University, followed by another teaching fellowship for CS 61 (Systems Programming) and CS 161 (Operating Systems). 

He then interned as a Software Engineering Intern at Dropbox in San Francisco, California, from May 2015 to August 2015, focusing on projects within the Growth Infrastructure team. Transitioning to full-time roles, David worked as a Quantitative Researcher at Vatic Labs in the Greater New York City Area, before joining DeepMind in London, United Kingdom, as a Senior Research Engineer, where he led a generative AI team. 

In November 2023, David Ding co-founded Udio, a text-to-music AI tool. Ding has been serving as the CEO since its inception.
