AI in IPL 2024: What is the AI Hindi Translation Technology?

Star Sports Network has introduced an innovative way to integrate AI into India’s favorite cricket tournament. The official broadcaster of TATA IPL has introduced a new state-of-the-art technology that allows English commentators to speak in Hindi, one of the most widely spoken languages in the country.  This AI Hindi Translation Technology aims to make the matches more accessible to a wider audience and enhance the overall viewing experience for fans across India. With this technology, Indian fans can hear the commentary of their favorite non-Hindi-speaking commentators in their common tongue.

The official commentators list for the IPL 2024 include some iconic cricket names. Steve Smith, Stuart Broad, Dale Steyn, Jacques Kallis, Tom Moody, and Paul Collingwood are the International commentators.

Australian cricketer Steve Smith is one of the official commentators for the IPL 2024. In an Instagram post, Smith wrote, “Namaste India! Being a part of the StarCast with such a stellar line-up of commentators has been a thrill for me. More importantly, my family, friends, and fans around the world got very excited after the hologram clip went viral last year. This season I’m part of another breakthrough technology where you’ll hear my IPL insights in Hindi. I’ve received some great feedback from fans, and I’m excited to connect with millions of viewers through the Star Sports Hindi feed.”
