IISER Tirupati Launches One-Year Master’s Programs In Data Science And AI

Applications are being accepted for one-year professional Master’s programs in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DS-AI) and Biological Data Science (BioDS) at the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) Tirupati. 

The deadline for applications is July 31. The application period opened on July 11. The first day of classes is August 8. Those who meet the requirements and are interested can apply online at the official website.

Eligibility criteria

Common Standards for Eligibility:

• Four-year Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Technology (BE/BTech) degree with a minimum CGPA of 6.0/10.0 or at least 60% of total marks.
• Alternatively, a master’s degree in technology (M.E./M.Tech.) or science (MS/M.Sc.) with a minimum CGPA of 5.5/10.0 or at least 55% of total marks is required.
• Professionals in the business or other organizations, recent graduates, and those in the middle of their careers are all welcome to apply.

Program Specific Eligibility:

• Professional Master’s in BioDS: We encourage applications from candidates holding a BTech in biotechnology, a BS/MSc in bioinformatics, or an MSc in any branch of biology that has exposure to bioinformatics.
• In addition to meeting the general requirements, candidates for the Professional Master’s in DS-AI program must have completed their mathematics coursework in Class XII.
• With a master’s degree in bioDS, one can work as a scientist or researcher for both public and private organizations, such as biotech and pharmaceutical businesses, sequencing startups, and AI in the life sciences.
• A master’s degree in DS-AI could lead to work opportunities as a data analyst/scientist, machine learning engineer, machine learning scientist, or in specialized areas such as NLP specialist in both public and commercial businesses.

Application cost

Prospective participants shall remit a non-transferable charge of Rs 1,000.
