OpenAI Intends to Open Data Centers in India

OpenAI plans to establish a data center in India and house user data from India and neighboring countries. The process is expected to be completed by 2025. Microsoft is also expected to collaborate on the project.

Data center operations in India are being discussed by OpenAI, according to Business Standard. It is anticipated that the center will house user data from India and a few neighboring nations.

They are currently speaking with several data center operators, but these are only the first stages of their strategy, the report claims. Getting down to the specifics, such as the location and capacity, can take some time. Although it hasn’t established a deadline, the business intends to finish the procedure in 2025.

The majority of OpenAI’s servers are housed in US data centers located in Texas. The business serves customers worldwide, including in India, by utilizing Microsoft’s Azure Cloud services.
