Nvidia Funded 35 AI Companies in 2023 to dominate technology landscape

Nvidia, the world’s most valuable chipmaker is becoming a powerful investor in artificial intelligence (AI) startups. In 2023, Nividia funded 35 AI companies and startups. The high number of funding by Nvidia in AI startups shows the company’s vision to acquire more markets in the chip industry with advanced technology and processes. 

Also, Nividia has introduced Accelerated Computing for startups where they can buy this technology to leverage high-end AI solutions for their projects. So, What Is Accelerated Computing? The Nividia Accelerated Computing is the use of specialized hardware to dramatically speed up work, often with parallel processing that bundles frequently occurring tasks. It offloads demanding work that can bog down CPUs, processors that typically serially execute tasks.

According to the Dealroom, Nvidia has participated in 35 deals in 2023, marking a significant increase from the previous year and making it one of the most active investors in the AI space. According to the report, “Nvidia’s investments span a wide range, from major AI platforms valued in the billions of dollars to smaller startups focusing on applying AI in sectors like healthcare and energy.”

The Nvidia investment strategy focuses on companies that use its technology and products so that they can dominate the chip manufacturing and processing industry. To facilitate a long-term startup funding strategy, Nvidia has established a dedicated venture capital arm called NVentures, which, alongside its corporate development team. Some of the prominent funding by Nividia are AI players like Inflection AI, Cohere, Hugging Face, CoreWeave and others.

According to the report, all the companies and startups in Nvidia’s portfolio are also their customers using either its GPU chips or software. This year company has launched Nvidia’s H100 GPU a powerful processor that enables creators of “large language models” to train their systems more efficiently, making it a valuable asset for companies in the generative AI field.
