Lenovo Introduces AI Hybrid Laptops at Tech World ’24

Lenovo unveiled its latest hybrid AI PCs at Tech World '24, including the ThinkPad X1 2-in-1 Gen 10 Aura Edition. With AI-powered features, a dedicated NPU, and up to 18 hours of battery life, these laptops bring enhanced performance and productivity.

Lenovo unveiled its latest laptops, dubbed hybrid AI PCs, during its main Tech World ’24 event. This includes the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 2-in-1 Gen 10 Aura Edition, which has numerous AI features and can function as a laptop or tablet.

During a pre-briefing for the media, Lenovo’s Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Daryl Cromer, stated, “Our goals are simple: we want to make AI technology accessible to everyone to enhance their daily lives.”

With a dedicated NPU that provides up to 48 TOPs of AI performance and the newest Intel Core Ultra 200V CPU, this will soon be equipped with all of Microsoft’s Copilot+ AI features, including smart mode, smart share, and smart care.

In addition, the ThinkPad X1 2-in-1 Gen 10 Aura Edition boasts a battery life of up to 18 hours. The ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition and the Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition, equipped with the newest Intel Core Ultra processors, are two more models the business has announced.

The efficiency optimizer, a clever energy management technology that automatically modifies power based on usage to achieve higher efficiency, is also included with these laptops. Additionally, users can adjust the profile to manage battery life and performance according to their preferences. This feature will also be available on some of the current Lenovo laptops.

Smart Connect is another feature that lets customers integrate all of their devices into a seamless environment. It also lets users use an AI PC’s capabilities on a non-AI smartphone or tablet.

Introducing Lenovo’s AI NOW

The company also unveiled “AI Now,” a chatbot with AI capabilities that is also referred to as a personal AI agent. It is equipped with extra data protection and a sizable language model that operates locally on a PC. It doesn’t need cloud services to maintain documents or produce content.

Lenovo claimed that because all of the processing takes place on the device, its AI Now is different from other AI chatbots in that it prioritizes data protection. Lenovo is doing the same with the Moto AI experience, adding features like assist, create, and capture.

This contains a new feature called Memory Finder, which functions similarly to Copilot Recall in that it captures screenshots and uses the device’s local computing power to assist users in finding crucial information on their phones. These capabilities are now being tested in beta and will soon be available on a few smartphones, including the Razr 50 Ultra (review).
