India AI Mission: 10,000 Crores Funds for GPUs and STPI Initiatives

The Union Cabinet has cleared the way for India's AI mission by allocating Rs 10,372 crore. STPI under MeitY will use the funds for the IndiaAI mission to promote the IT industry.

oming five years. This mission aims at creating computing infrastructures called Graphics processing units (GPUs) in public-private partnerships. Startups will have long-term access to these GPU clusters, given the scarcity and cost of this infrastructure.

Arvind Kumar, Director General of Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), said, “It is important not just from the perspective that something has been done for AI but something done for the whole startup community.
