Google Launches AI-Powered Google Vids for Easy Video Creation

Google introduces Google Vids, an AI-based video creation tool for Workspace, using Gemini AI to create, edit, and enhance videos rapidly. Available in Workspace Labs, it streamlines internal video production with advanced features.

Google introduced Google Vids, a groundbreaking AI-based video creation and editing tool integrated into the Google Workspace environment.

Designed to simplify and accelerate internal video production, Google Vids leverages the power of Gemini AI to create slides, generate scripts, select stock footage, and storyboard videos effortlessly.

Users can further customize their videos by adding, modifying, or deleting elements before exporting them in MP4 format.

Initially available in Workspace Labs, Google Vids promises to enhance productivity and creativity within the Google Suite, marking an exciting development for both educational and professional settings.

In contrast to Vids, which has a Gemini prompt at the top and the Write a New One button in the corner of the screen, assisting with writing in Google Docs is an option called Help me Write, which is located at the side of the user interface.

If you have created a new project, you will start with a text box wherein you can briefly describe what the video is all about or what you aim to achieve in creating the video.

It is also possible to instruct the AI directly to read documents from your Google Drive. This isn’t much of a choice if you’re interested in the AI aspect of Canva since there currently is none; you can begin with one of the templates already available.

Check out the following screenshots from a video produced using the prompt “Inform our employees about the latest findings on the benefits of video games. Highlight how video games can improve cognitive functions, problem-solving skills, and social interaction.”

In general, Google Vids is similar to iMovie or Windows Movie Maker, with further enriched options.

This is perfect if you want to create a small and temporary video that may likely be used only for a day at school or at the workplace. But with the help of the integration with the Gemini, making these videos will not take too much time.

Google Vids has been a new and promising addition to the Google Suite and it is very exciting to find out its potential and how much it can improve in the coming days.
