DALL-E 3 model allows ChatGPT users to create up to two free photos every day

Now, OpenAI's basic users can use the DALL-E 3 AI model to generate up to two photos every day. One of DALL-E 3's major upgrades is its ability to recommend prompts for creating images.

There’s good news for people who still need to dabble in AI image production. OpenAI has revealed that it is utilizing its in-house DALL-E 3 text-to-image model to enable free users to generate two photos every day. DALL-E was only released as an extension for ChatGPT last September by OpenAI, and it was first available only to ChatGPT Plus subscribers.

We’re going to start allowing ChatGPT Free users to use DALL-E 3 to make up to two photos every day. In an X post, the firm stated, “Just ask ChatGPT to create an image for a slide deck, personalize a card for a friend, or show you what something looks like.”

ChatGPT is powered by DALL-E 3, which has several enhancements. For example, it can provide image creation prompts, which greatly simplifies the procedure. Although the new feature’s release has been announced, access to DALL-E 3 still needs to be made available through a free user account as of this writing. It appears that OpenAI might provide the feature gradually.

Fascinatingly, DALL-E, the ancestor of DALL-E 3, is also available through Bing Chat. It creates graphics based on natural language prompts. In Bing Chat, you can create as many images as you like, but if a user has more than 25, it takes longer to create new images.

OpenAI created the text-to-image models DALL-E, DALL-E 2, and DALL-E 3 by utilizing deep learning methods. The initial iteration was unveiled in January of 2021. The model can produce photos in many styles. Image production has improved over time, and the most recent DALL-E 3 can produce more precise images and follow intricate instructions.

The Microsoft-backed AI company also published a research paper titled GPT-4o System Card, which examines the model’s safety issues and potential hazards.

According to the study, GPT-4o posed an overall “medium” danger when evaluated according to factors like cybersecurity, biological risks, persuasion, and model autonomy. Since the machine could produce writing that persuaded readers’ opinions more effectively than human-written language, persuasion was the only one of these metrics where it was determined that the model posed a high risk.

Although OpenAI has already published similar safety reports for GPT-4, GPT-4 with Vision, and DALL-E 3, the business appears to be attempting to appear more open about its safety standards in an attempt to counter criticism.
