Arnab Chakraborty becomes Accenture’s First Chief Responsible AI Officer

Accenture has appointed Arnab Chakraborty as its first Chief Responsible AI Officer, demonstrating the company's increased commitment to ethical AI. With more than twenty years of experience, Arnab is the owner of ten machine learning patents.

Arnab Chakraborty was recently appointed chief responsible AI officer by Accenture, to properly scale and monitor AI systems while also boosting the growth and value of clients across various industries.

Our research indicates that only 2% of companies have fully operationalized responsible AI across their organizations. Leaders recognize the importance of responsible AI principles, but there is a gap in their practical implementation,” Chakraborty said.

Arnab Chakraborty has almost twenty years of experience and ten patents related to machine-learning solutions for commercial problems. In addition, he has contributed to the development of the WEF AI Governance Alliance and serves as a member of the US Senate AI Insight Forum, where he guides how to balance AI innovation with risk mitigation.

In the press release, Julie Sweet, chair and CEO of Accenture, stated, “Clients are eager to embrace the potential of generative AI, and we are ready to help them build responsible AI into every use. We aim to empower our clients to safely innovate with AI and be prepared to take advantage of AI’s opportunities in the coming decades.”

Accenture is expanding its responsible AI capabilities, solutions, platforms, ecosystem alliances, and thought leadership by appointing its first chief responsible AI officer. These actions include:

  • Extending technology and advisory services to support businesses in establishing policies, values, and standards and putting them into practice through risk assessments and testing frameworks driven by platforms, assets, and technology. This includes continuous compliance monitoring and helping businesses navigate dynamic regulatory environments like the EU AI Act.
  • Introducing managed services that keep an eye on AI systems, controls, and solutions to assist businesses in adhering to rapidly evolving legal requirements.
  • putting money into skills for security, rule administration, continuous compliance, and generative AI testing, then growing these with its ecosystem partners.

Accenture’s emphasis on responsible AI and extensive industry alliances put it in a position to lead AI innovation while respecting moral norms and practices.
