Thomas Dohmke has an extensive career history, spanning various roles and industries. Starting as the Founder & CEO of ToDoSoft in Berlin, Germany, in 1998, he developed insurance software aimed at helping insurance agents calculate prices for different insurance products. The software was sold to over 1,500 insurance agents in Germany. Later, additional services such as web hosting and online insurance calculation were also offered.

Moving forward, Thomas worked as a Systems Engineer at DaimlerChrysler in the Stuttgart Area, Germany. He designed and implemented control systems for advanced driver assistance systems like Brake Assist Plus, Pre-Safe Break, and Active Parking Assist. Notably, the Brake Assist Plus and Pre-Safe Break features became prominent in the 2005 S-Class (W221) and 2006 CL-Class (C216).

Continuing his career, he served as a Project Manager at Robert Bosch GmbH, also in the Stuttgart Area, Germany. In this role, he managed a team of software developers working on Side View Assist, an ultrasonic-based system to monitor the blind spots of cars and trucks.

Transitioning to a different role in 2009, he worked as a Freelance Software Developer at MTV Networks Germany GmbH in Berlin, Germany. He primarily focused on backend development using Ruby on Rails and JavaScript for properties like GameOne and ClubNick.

He co-founded Codenauts GmbH in Stuttgart, Germany in 2010. Codenauts developed mobile apps for various clients, including Viacom International Media Networks Germany, Zattoo Inc., and Dekra Automobil GmbH. Notable projects included the South Park app for iOS and Android and Zattoo for Android.

During the same period, Dohmke also co-founded HockeyApp. Microsoft acquired the startup in December 2014. HockeyApp provided DevOps solutions for Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows developers, enabling them to collect crash reports, distribute betas, and analyze test coverage.

Following the acquisition, Thomas Dohmke became the Principal PM Manager at Microsoft. He oversaw various products, including HockeyApp and Visual Studio App Center. He led teams responsible for defining product vision and features and engaging with customers to create industry-leading DevOps solutions.

In March 2018, Dohmke briefly held the position of Principal Director of PM at Microsoft before transitioning to GitHub later in August, where he served as the Vice President of Strategic Programs until 2021.

Since November 2021, Thomas has been the Chief Product Officer at GitHub, overseeing product development and strategic initiatives. In addition, he also took on the role of Chief Executive Officer at GitHub in the same period, leading the company into its next phase of growth and innovation. 

Outside of his professional roles, Thomas serves as a Board Member at Spice AI and has been with Microsoft for over three years.
