Dylan Field pursued his high school education at Technology High School. He obtained a High School Diploma with a focus on Mathematics and Engineering. During his time there, he was actively involved in FIRST Robotics as a member of Team 675. 

Following his high school graduation, Field attended Sonoma State University, majoring in Mathematics. During his tenure, he served as an Instructional Assistant and Tutor, grading for Statistics and Pre-Calculus classes, videotaping the Mathematics Colloquium weekly, and providing tutoring support to fellow students. 

Subsequently, Field transferred to Brown University, where he pursued a ScB in Computer Science and Mathematics. At Brown, he engaged in various roles, including serving as a Research Assistant to Wendy Schiller in 2009, Residential Counselor in 2010, as President of the CS Department Undergraduate Group, Lab Consultant, and as CS 931 Head TA in 2011. 

However, in Spring 2012, after completing 2.5 years at Brown, Field took a leave of absence to accept the Thiel Fellowship, a two-year grant of $100,000, to pursue entrepreneurial projects.

Dylan Field began his professional journey as an Online Marketing Intern at O’Reilly Media in 2008. During this time, he engaged in various tasks including PR, Marketing, Development, Blogging, and other miscellaneous activities. 

Following this, Field worked as a Developer at Indinero for three months, where he developed in Flex/Ruby, collaborated with designers on user experience, and established customer relationships. Subsequently, he served as a Research Assistant at Microsoft for nine months, supporting technical research efforts led by danah boyd. 

Afterward, he joined LinkedIn as a Data Analytics Intern for four months, where he analyzed trends for LinkedIn’s Skills product using Hadoop and Pig, and spearheaded the “LinkedIn for Good” initiative to connect non-profit organizations with volunteers. 

Later, he interned as a Software Engineering Intern at Flipboard for four months, contributing to the development of a recommendation engine, data analysis, visualization, and early explorations into commerce. In 2012, Field became a Product Design Intern at Flipboard for seven months, playing a key role in the development of Flipboard’s 2.0 release. 

Finally, in August 2012, Dylan Field co-founded Figma, Inc., where he currently serves as CEO and Co-founder, leading the company’s operations and strategic direction.
