Bret Taylor’s career began at Google in March 2003. There he worked as a Group Product Manager for over four years. During his tenure, he co-created Google Maps, Google Local, and the Google Maps API, revolutionizing digital mapping. He also initiated Google’s first developer product team and the Google I/O developer conference, marking significant achievements in the company’s developer relations strategy.

In June 2007, Taylor joined Benchmark Capital as an Entrepreneur in Residence, where he explored startup ideas and evaluated companies seeking funding. 

During his brief four-month stint, he co-founded the social networking platform FriendFeed and served as its CEO. 

By August 2009, FriendFeed was sold to Facebook, where Taylor transitioned to the role of Chief Technology Officer. 

At Facebook, from 2009 to 2012, he played a key role in the company’s technical leadership during a time of rapid growth.

In September 2012, Bret Taylor founded the productivity platform Quip, where he served as the CEO until November 2017. In August 2016, Salesforce acquired Quip for $750 million
